I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m easily distracted! All it takes is something shiny or some new art supplies, and I’m off in a different direction. I fight with myself daily to maintain focus, so I know I need a planner! However, because I’m a visual person, I want a planner product that gives me creative options. As you begin a new planner year, I want show you some simple ways to create custom planners that make your day to day “to do” tasks a little less stressful and a LOT more fun.
Start by opening one of Scrap Girls planner products in your digital software program. I chose ScrapSimple Color Your World 8.5×11 Planner Templates.
Personalize by adding a pretty digital paper. Recolor the grid, text, and calendar mat in a coordinating palette. I added the dates, but you can simply write them in after printing or use stickers.
Print on the paper of your choice, then cut, punch holes, and place in a readily available binder.
Not sure what paper to print on? Check out this tutorial from the Scrap Girls Blog: Finding the Perfect Paper for Your Planner.
Select pens for your daily use. I use Staedtler Triplus Fineliners in a variety of colors.
Pick coordinating washi tape. Use tape to remind you of a weeklong event, to highlight a fun activity, or to attach a note or a picture.
Add stickers to inspire, track your fitness goals, or remind you of upcoming events. You can either print-and-cut from coordinating Scrap Girls products or purchase sticker sheets. I love making my own stickers from Scrap Girls supplies because I can create totally unique designs that fit whatever my subject might be.
I hope these simple tips will help you to plan each day creatively! When you finish your first planner pages, be sure to drop by the Scrap Girls Gallery and show them off!
